This is my journal spread for AJC itinerary 3 and Journal52 week 4 Full Moon. I used vintage music paper with a fox and goose illustration on it, but missed the lace. I have also included the quote from itinerary 3. I painted the background with gesso and acrylics, used stencils to wipe off some of the paint. My moon is painted with acrylic paint and has a bit of iridescent medium around the edge. The girl image is Carson from a digital kit by Rebecca McMeen.

I used challenge 1 and 2 from the Art Journal Emporium for my journal spread. It also fits in with the itinerary 1 of the Art Journal Caravan. All of the elements except the washi tape and stenciling is from the Jan. grab bag and bonus items from Jan. in the Art Journal Emporium I have included my intention (word) of the year "heal" and 6 words to explore becoming uncaged. My word "Heal" was stamped on the page and on a teabag fabric which was glued over the page. fly and unleashed was painted with pearlescent watercolour. The journal spread also fits the Journal 52 Week 1 challenge for Word of the year "Heal"
Yesterday was another day of a new journal page. This time I was reading "101 Mixed Media Techniques" published by Walter Foster and came to the page about printing on reclaimed paper. The process looked exciting so I just had to try it out right away. I found an image on my computer of a girl knitting, not sure of the original source, but I changed the photo to black and white and printed it on a piece of brown paper. I was thrilled with the results, I feel that is gives an interesting depth to the photo so I put together this journal page by spaying coffee and fired brick walnut ink through a lace runner on the journal page and used several hand writing rubber stamps along with a Tim Holtz pen nib stamp and a Quietfire "cherish" word stamp. The image was torn and glued on along with computer generated words printed on Gellie print scraps. I have added this to Carolyn Dube's Link Party Today I have an oops, not an art oops but a blog oops, I did this journal page on Nov. 13 but never published it to my blog. So here it is today. This is a two page spread plus one more page in my journal telling a little bit about my start at crocheting. I used Rebecca McMeen's Dragon Lace kit and a paint splatter for another kit from Tangie Baxter. The journaling is done in Tangie Baxter Canary. The single page is a collage of some of the pages from the very old Learn How book that I used.
This is a journal I created in May after seeing one at the ATC swap that Rose made. The main structure is cut from 12X12 black cardstock and the background is scrapbook paper I used Teesha and Tracy Moore's collage images available from the Artstonaughts web group, rubber stamps and a vintage map image found online. The book measures 6in by 6in closed. |
